Where is your head headed...?"Every thought we think is creating our future." - Louise L. Hay
Several years ago, the National Science Foundation published a study that quantified the activity of the brain. According to the research the average person has about a thousand thoughts per hour. When we write, we think twenty-five hundred thoughts in an hour and a half. The average person thinks about twelve thousand thoughts per day. A deeper thinker, according to this report, puts forth up to fifty thousand thoughts daily.
Since the majority of us spend anywhere from 16-18 hours awake each day, we have thought activity on average about every 1.1 seconds. So, even if half of the time we are positive in our thinking, for many people that still means as many as six, to twenty-five thousand negative thoughts could be processed every day, producing the consequent negative projections that are manifest by them. Some people are more positive than others for a number of reasons. However, even the most positive people have their share of challenges. It all depends on what you think.
Thought management is a mental exercise to increase self awakening and decrease environmentally induced negativity.
Our thoughts are blueprints for our actions. What we see and do depends on how we look at things. Personal evolution results from being mentally and emotionally centered in the moment so that you function with complete detachment from all fear or worry of failure or success. No outcome expected = No anxiety produced. This is the power of being process based.
What we think consistently manifests as our life experience.
We must not let our thoughts control us, rather we must have control over our thinking. For this reason, it is important that we view, and selectively sort our thoughts each day. Many of us are not aware of how much we actually think or how negative our attitudes might be. No matter what social or economic place you hold, if you are looking to improve your mental and spiritual condition the instrument that puts order and purpose into all of this thought energy is the "conscious process of elimination."
Your thoughts lead to action. Your actions create habits. And those habits determine your ultimate destiny. The key principal of maximum personal development is that our thoughts precede actions and thus manifestation of things we focus upon most. This is why each of us must take responsibility for choosing the thoughts and inspirations that translate into our actions and destiny.
Consider these questions:
If thoughts are responsible for manifesting what we want, are you manifesting more positive or negative thoughts? Are you currently getting what you really want in life, or does the whole world seem to be constantly throwing barriers and obstacles in your way? Are you experiencing a less than acceptable life you have unknowingly created?
I have yet to meet someone who claims to like setting goals. Most of us have tried goal setting at some point in our life and failed and just decided it was too hard to maintain. Why? Because mingled in with your dreams and desires are also the unwanted thoughts - thousands of thoughts that are going to be there day in and day out inhibiting your progress until you learn how to limit their intrusion. What you need to do is eliminate negative and unnecessary thoughts… this would result in a radical streamlining of your life and the ability to stay focused on what is truly important and productive.
If you want the most out of life, you have to go look in the mirror and see who is really keeping you from experiencing an amazing life filled with reward, achievement and satisfaction… Problem is that when our lives are not going the way we want some people are unwilling to admit that we contributed to that condition. It takes courage to admit that our belief system needs rewiring. Look around you right now at your surroundings. Everything that you own or have achieved is a product of thoughts. Likewise, everything that you don't own, or have failed to achieve is a product of thoughts. Without control of our minds, we too often become lost in negative thoughts and worries that seem so real to us. Ironically, at the same time we have the ability to experience an entirely opposite reality full of promise and fulfillment.
Do you ever think:
"It's just the way I am. I can't help it."
"I can't control what I think."
"I just feel this way and there is nothing I can do about it."
The reality is that you CAN help it. There is no more important skill in life than learning to control the focus of our mind. In so doing, we can literally change our destiny. Every decision you make stems from what you think. In the blink of an eye you can change your beliefs – see what is possible and recognize that those limitations you encounter only have the power you give them based upon the they way you think.
